Busy Busy Day!!!

Alright so today was a super busy day! It started with going to the military headquarters over in Draper, Utah to get my military ID and figure few things out. Well that took a couple hours.. I had to hurry home to pick up Cadyn from the house and then pick up Connor from school. We had a 1 pm appointment with the Matheson Court House downtown Salt Lake. We actually got there an hour early. Connor decided he wanted nothing to do with the court hearing for the Adoption. He threw the first of few fits today. After practically dragging him in, we had to wait in the hallway for another half hour. Connor decided he wanted to do nothing so he laid on the floor of the hallway. Yes the still desire to be a lawyer side of me just huffed at him. So it became 12:45 and the bailiff came out and unlocked the court. She asked us if we were waiting for anyone else. I replied with "No" and she said "We can get started then." I'm getting super excited but dreading how Connor is going to react to the movement again. Well... Cadyn and I went in and sat in the seats. Connor decided he wanted nothing to do with it again. Sigh.... Luckily grandpa was there so he took him back out into the hallway. After the Judge and we were introduced to the court (Connor had to come back in to be introduced... but immediately left after), he asked me if I was still okay with Tyler adopting the children and if we had a divorce he would still be the father to attach the child support and all that stuff too not the "real sperm donor." I said "Yes." The Judge signed the papers and said "Alright It's Done!" We were in the court room for about 10 minutes. Not a single problem. It was wonderful! The Judge even okayed the new middle name for Cadyn.. THANK HEAVENS!!!! So now we have Connor Eugene Monk and Cadyn Wayne Monk. The boys have been learning their last name is Monk for the past couple months so it wasn't new news to them. I was just ecstatic that he signed off on changing Cadyn's middle name. The filing process took us another 10 minutes. So all together we were busy with the court for 20 minutes literally... Immediately following the court we went to Wheeler Farm because Connor had been asking to go to the farm for few days now. Why not when we didn't have school, work and something to actually celebrate. We walked around and saw all the animals. Connor loved feeding the ducks and geese. Cadyn loved it too but I believe he loved chasing them more... but that's just my opinion We had a nice picnic there and it was an amazing 70 degrees today. Honestly it was a WONDERFUL day! <3 Our family is growing.. It's just a huge BLESSING for it all to be OFFICIAL. Never have to think about anyone else other than the 6 of us... :D I cannot express the happiness I feel for our family! I just wish Tyler was here with us but he is doing what needs to be done for our family also. Nothing great can come without some sacrifice. We are honestly blessed beyond belief.. I do love my little (or maybe not so little) family.. Okay I'll go with young family.

  2. Thanks for sharing your blog. I enjoy reading what's going on on my friends lives. Can't wait to see pics of the new little ones when they make their debut. Also I have to thank u for sharing about your decision for Tyler to join the Air Force. We are having to make the same decision for our family and as I'm sure u know It's not an easy one. I'm very scared about him being gone for such long periods and posssibly being in a battle zone. Any way reading your blog made me just have this peace that that's what we need to do for our family. I have to commend u on your difficult choice and sacrifice.
